Nice video!
This is definitely a great option, especially with Apple car play support.

Great video-

I personally like the stedi panel for the physical buttons and dash integration, but would love for it to be half buttons/ half radar detector. really like that Garmin wireless option. Would be cool to like the two of them.

As for accessories, what will you be running?

I was looking at the stedi behind the grill lights/bracket

Side note- would love if you can explore the possibility of ordering a Australian OEM passenger (US driver) side A-pillar grab handle and installing on your truck :)

No idea if the brackets are under the trim or not

Got answers for a few of your questions.

Gonna run ditch lights, a pirate camp co (Australia made) hidden light bar but with a series of pods (deciding between morimoto and diode dynamics currently) rather then an actual bar probably and side/rear floods for the camper. Link to the mounting kit below. There is also prob space for a light bar as well and next time I pull my grill I’m gonna measure the mounting bolt width and try to figure out out what kind of bar would fit best

https://piratecampco.com.au/products/light-bar-bumper-mount-ranger-2022

I have looked into the drivers side grab handle and I think if you look closely at some of the videos available there are no mounting points on the body for the handle so it’s a no go.

Dangit on the grab handle-

As for lights- that grill bracket is clever- I do like the series of pods better than a full bar as well.

ARB air compressor in the rear quarter is on my wishlist, as well as upgraded audio

Not necessarily. I'm of the mind that something can be fabricated to mount the handle to if we can just get the trim and handle pieces from a foreign source.

Stupid question but what are you using the aux switches for? Wouldn’t mind ideas.

I really like the idea of controlling the aux bank via android auto, but i'd have mild concerns about the screen failing and rendering all that stuff inoperable until its fixed. Plus the tactile feeling on actual aux-switches can't be beat...really wish ford would just let us install the raptor switch bank.

Out of all the options in the video, I think the STEDI switchbank and the pirate camp co bank integrate the nicest if you want actual physical buttons. Interested to see the solutions people here come up with

With garmin option your phone is your backup to the head unit and I guess if something was super mission critical you could also run a tread. Back up to back up to back up would be the solid buttons on the underhood unit.

I really like this solution with the Garmin power switch and mounting it on a battery mount plate.
Can you confirm the battery mount plate from Pirate Camp Co fit on the US Gen Ranger battery?

If need be I do have a contact in Australia that could buy it and ship to me but a US distributor would be better. Has anybody found a US distributor for something similar?

Im running a Garmin PowerSwitch and its pretty slick. I made my own bracket, but I am now going to add an inline fuse block (instead of separate inline fuses for each powered device), so I have a PowerTray on order. I mounted my bracket on top of the engine bay fuse box. Im really just learning by doing and coming at this without experience, but setting up the actual switches is stupid simple. I like that I have the ability to group different switches into a single custom function (this setup is quite a bit more complicated with something like an Auxbeam and would require additional relays).

FYI, the phone app for PowerSwitch is great and has all the functionality I need, but the carplay app is a little bit more basic and some things don't work as well. Here are my minor complaints:

- If you have a device set for toggle (on/off) function on the primary switch, and want to add a custom button for momentary activation, it works perfectly on the phone app, but does NOT work in the carplay app. Im working with Garmin, but I don't think this functionality exists.
- I wish the screens were more customizable. The carplay screen is very vanilla. Would be nice to add the button colors (like the phone app) and add custom icons.
- The screw posts on the power switch are very tight. Need to make sure your connectors fit (or crimp new ones on).
- Not a complaint per say, but unlike an Auxbeam where the switches are fused, the Garmin switches are NOT fused (although there is a high amperage fuse upstream of the entire device). Im fusing each device on its own.

You can also add physical upfitter switches (up to two) to the switched inputs, although I haven't done that (yet).

I was thinking about making my own bracket also. Can you send pictures of the bracket and how it mounts on the fuse box?

Sorry had to screen grab from a video but here are some low quality pics. I just used a 1/2” thick piece of plastic. I think the blue sea inline fuse block is going to clean things up a lot when I add it (not in the photos). Highly recommend using one of those (along with a ground bus bar) instead of a bunch of dangling inline fuses.
