If I should order them. My buddy says yes but he's short and "round" to put it nicely and he has to have them on his F150 or he wouldn't be able to reach anything in the bed. I'm 6'2" and not round:D To me the truck does look slightly better without them. I may have to stop at the dealership and try them. Never had them before. If I get a topper, which I most likely will, the only thing they'd be good for then is washing the roof or maybe access to a roof rack or a Thule box. hmmmm.
Anyone get them and use them? Anyone not get them and sorry?

In my opinion they don't serve much purpose, it's only like 4 in lower than the bumper. Even when the tailgate is down you still get a small area to step on (see yellow)

I have a Ranger on order. I am tall.
Getting to a strap at the back, in the middle of the roof line height is awkward. Strapping down paddle boards, canoe. I would first use a back T bar rack off the hitch. When i have some extra money i would put a Softopper and bed rack on.
I plan on putting the shallow rack on the roof, to have a tie down point at front.
If I filled the bed fully I would have extra storage over the cab.
If you are just trying to get items out of the bed I do not think its needed. unless your trying to get something in the middle of the bed.

As you said if you had a Thule roof top cargo box above the Bed.

Get the steps. If you don't like them, it's easy to sell/trade them for much more than the $215 option cost. I've been trying to buy some for my 2025 Ranger FX4 or trade my non-step molding + $ for a set.

I've been glad my '24 XLT came with the step. It definitely makes getting in and out of the bed easier if the tailgate is down and now that I have a rack on the back and a RTT it's become even more helpful.

I have them and use them all the time when I need to get into the bed. However Iam short, 5’6”. if I did not have them I would have to get the short step ladder out to climb into the bed. I really like them.

For $215 the side steps are the best value of the options I added. The top of the bed on a 4wd version is pretty tall. I use mine all the time.

I'm 5'6" too and I just step on top of the tire until I can get a set of bed steps.

I’m six foot with long legs.

absolutely get the step

its a long way up to that tail gate and getting in and out of the bed is tough without it

reaching into the bed from the side, not such a big deal without it
Agree, it makes getting into the bed with the tailgate down a lot easier.

I did not think of that, climbing up into the bed, as the tailgate is too tall.
One thing that is good with Ford removing accessories from the truck is not making you purchase the running boards with FX4 package. This way you can put on a Rock Slider tight to the rocker panel. Some of them come with a step at the back door.
