I used some lock washers on mine. You can also shim with some flat washers, if you are fussy about the orientation of the eye.

As a new truck owner, I'm just learning about these things... Should I get flat washers and split lock washers to go between the flat washer and an eye bolt, or is it ok with just the eye bolts and no washers?

Mine have stayed in with just the eye bolts and no washers for months now.

Not that it matters which exact ones I bought, but these are what I used in the various holes (AFTER chasing the holes proper to clean them out)
