Did mine magnetic gray to match the wheel arches. This was one of those jobs where half way thru I kind of wished I hadn’t taken it on. Stripping the original adhesive, sanding, putting on new adhesive - all very annoying. Painting was the easy part. Looks good though.Any suggestions on how to black out the chrome “XLT”? Seems pretty small for vinyl wrap, I was thinking about plasti-dip. Any pictures? Or other suggestions? I have seen the all black ones on the FORD website but have the F150-LEDS lights in there that I want to keep.

I just did the same to mine this weekend. It really is the easiest way to dechrome those letters. It is also reversible by cleaning it with mineral spirits.Plastid Dipped mine a couple days ago. Looks great!

Here is a site with all the front bumper related parts and diagrams:Thanks! You wouldn't happen to have the part # for the front valance in Black under the front bumper that replaces the silver one. The black one is part of the BAP.
Would it not just be easier to pull the letters off the XLT and buy the V6 badge on Amazon? I mean, I am not sure if you can JUST pull the letters XLT off clean? I don't mind the gloss under it, and would like to just put a V^ emblem on each side. Anyone JUST pull the letter off clean? And if so how??I'm just going to buy these for my XLT since I have the V6. I like the gloss trim. seems to match wheel trim

use a wire and the letters pull off clean and easy. They are held with adhesive. I pulled mine off and painted them the same color as the trim. The hard part was cutting new adhesive to put them back on.Would it not just be easier to pull the letters off the XLT and buy the V6 badge on Amazon? So since I just want to remove the XLT letters, they come off individually or does the gloss backing come off as well? I was hoping to just pull the three letters off, keep the gloss, and add brand new V6 letters I can get off Amazon? If that is do-able, then I will try it, I just don't want to mess up the vent without good feedback LOLuse a wire and the letters pull off clean and easy. They are held with adhesive. they come off individually. The vent piece is totally separate. So since I just want to remove the XLT letters, they come off individually or does the gloss backing come off as well? ok cool. so the gloss backing strip the letter sit on (which is different than the rest of the vent color) does not get damaged at all? If that is true, then I am going to go for it!!! Thanks!!!they come off individually. The vent piece is totally separate.
