Way back when I worked at a Ford dealer, the 7.3 diesel had the option for a block heater. Funny thing was that the heating element was on all the engines. The option just got the 110V cord added.

Any idea if this applies to the Raptors?

FWIW I ordered mine with it. Happy with the placement and ease of use.

A bunch of parts? More than an element and cable? Are they tied into the engine control system for some reason?

Unknown.
Just guessing here, but in today's nanny state of things, it may have features to prevent you from driving if the cord is still connected.

And there is a recall for the Ford one, just had it done. They took everything out including the cord and replaced it with a screw in plug as parts not available until possibly summer time or fall.

I had a factory block heater in my Canadian export 2010 Ranger and moved to SoCal. The boys doing an oil change for me asked what the plug was for. When I told them one of them said "Sweet you're ready to go see Santa Claus Boss"

Mine was also optioned with it in Southern California. Because it's so needed here.

Interesting that they don't show a kit on their site, just the cord and element separately.

A recall you say? Got any more info?

Yes campaign 25SA4 block heater element may leak and cause fire. Right now no parts available maybe 2nd quarter 2026. The take the element out and put a plug in and take the cord out which I think is stupid as they have to install it again when parts are available. Turns a 30 min job into 2+ hours
