Borla manufactures the "Ford Performance" exhaust for Ford.

I'm surprised someone said you may install the tune yourself and retain the warranty.
Yes I am aware Borla makes it. The quality is crazy good. Even has Ford stamped in the tips and the mufflers.

As far as the warranty, yeah I am sure some mook on the phone could be wrong, but I am a competent mechanic and installing the tune is not as hard as updating some phones I have had!

Which version of the exhaust did you go with? I'm looking at the trail exhaust without the exposed tip. Glad the installs of everything went smooth
Black tips, I don't do any heavy off roading and something about exhaust pointing down under the vehicle concerns me... I have sat idle in the winter watching the exhaust from someone who has the turn down exhaust just billow all under the truck towards the front.... probably not a huge deal, but ... the black tips got the cool Ford embossed on them. (Excuse the dirt I just went down a gravel road.... maybe should've got silver? haha). Could not have been easier to install. Less than an hour and took my time.

The process lists who has to hit install in order to keep the warranty. It doesn't have to be a Ford guy but does have to have a certain certification.

You may have it so your warranty stays but most people don't have that cert and even being a higher level mechanic doesn't let me do it since either am not Ford or use or whatever the requirements were.

A&p let's me work for Lamborghini, BMW, and Porsche but not push install and keep the the ford warranty
Did you just have a stroke? I kind of get what you are saying, but overall... it IS a Ford performance part and they would have to prove it was installed incorrectly and it is the cause of any mishap. I am more willing to bet on myself installing it right after seeing what those ham fisted goons do to the interior after the 4 recalls that added up to nothing I have had already. It is literally a bolt on part made by Ford.. not like I am cutting out the accident bars.... or using an aftermarket part. Not a whole lot different than putting on windshield deflector or floor mats. To each thier own.

No dude, just telling you what the procal warranty says. We all have read it and feel the same as you, we all can install it perfectly fine but wanted to keep the warranty since our trucks were so new when we installed it.

If you want to pay now and receive the exhaust three + months later... Then Borla's your choice! I'm still waiting for the exhaust that I ordered two months ago with no communication from them and every time I reach out to them numerous times, I finally do receive a response with estimated production times that have come and gone... There are more and more companies coming out with exhaust systems for these at a better price point!
Which Borla are you looking for I have the chrome tip and black tips in stock.

Did it twice. Did everything but final button push to install. Paid an ASE to do that for $50. Made a certificate with all info and his signature and stamp....warranty preserved. I wanted my own Ford Performance account - where you go to do the downloads - rather than have to rely on dealers. If you have any problems with any portion of the process Ford Performance online chat is there prompt and terrific support. I had a bad install code that comes in the package that allows the download....they worked with me and sent me a new one immediately.
