What genius in Detroit decided that they know the exact conditions I am
encountering while driving right now?
Then block the camera on command or turning it off while above a speed of xx.
A good camera view is a SAFETY feature and not something to be excluded!
I can look at the rearview or sideview mirrors whenever I want for as long as needed.
But I cannot use the available camera information which is far better!
I can turn on the GPS map on the same display whenever I need it for
as long as I want.
That is not a distraction! but knowing where nearby objects are or checking
the condition of trailer ties is not allowed while moveing over xx.

You canto see the side mirror cameras looking back at speed or look down on the hitch.

given how high the hood is, I think the forward looking camera should be on at any speed.

putting that message in the middle of the tailgate camera view is stupid.

and there must be a camera above the rear view mirror looking forward. That should be recording, all of them should Have an option.

and there is a little spot where a usb connector should be above the rear view mirror that Australia gets.

and the raptor should have an underside camera view

following this thread. hate the camera interface and modes that ford put in. wondering if we could play with Forscan or add modifications to make it better.

I believe they don’t let us use the cameras at speed because of latency - the faster we go the more potential disconnect between what we see on screen and reality.

IDK why we can’t use them as a dash cam. Maybe Ford doesn’t want evidence that some claims aren’t, in fact, “user error”.

The options to enable cameras at speed in the IPMA are there in the 2024 Ranger spreadsheet.

You'd also have to enable the specific views you want to see in the APIM. Example, RCOD (rear camera on demand) and hitch view (if hittch view is enabled) at speed are enabled here.

Edit: This will not work on Rangers that use the IPMA/IPMB combo. I believe it's the 2024 and up Ranger that have the newer IPMA only architecture, but not 100% sure.

Absolutely right. I never was that much of a camera guy—but not anymore. I find that when I am parking or maneuvering in tight areas, especially towards the front, I turn on the front camera to see how close I am. Far better than having the wife get out there and say “keep coming”, “keep coming”, “you got a long ways-keep coming” !!(CRASH)!!! “Ok, You Can Stop Now”!

One thing that wasn’t mentioned above is that stupid warning label that turns on in the backup camera screen. The warning bar goes from side to side blocking the view of vehicles farther than 30-50 feet or so. I tried to use it once on the highway when I had cargo that blocked my entire rear window view. With that warning label blocking the camera view, I couldn’t see far enough back to determine if cars were there or not to make a safe lane change. Get rid of the warning bar.

Teslas use their cameras as Dash/Parking cams—I don’t see any legal reasons why Ford couldn’t do it.

I did activate both hitch and rear camera at speed with this
