CAN BUS Triggers for Driving and Spot Light and other cool stuff

Has anyone tried this? Online vid shows install on a new tacoma and land cruiser, where the contactless connector just wraps onto the hi and low can wires--no cutting, or wasting the OBDII plug.

I've seen the high beam ones on a rally car, that would only trigger spots with high beam. Also have something similar for my one gauge setup to run stuff from tablet. Seems like it would be good if anyone wanted to add shift lights, have corner lights tied to fogs, Driving to low beam, and spots to high beam.
