Since buying my 2024 xlt I have found that the fact that the rear seat latch is on the passenger side is a pain. Is it possible to switch the latch to the other side?
I agree. Not a convenient decision for the US model. Probably great for other non-US markets with their drivers side opposite.

I assumed the OP was referring to the seat back tilting forward-which in my truck the release is in between the middle and passenger head rest. I said to myself the other day when I was fixing my slamming to latch issue, "this would be more convenient if it was on the drivers side."

The seat bottom in my truck can be lifted from either side.

I don't care where it is located I would just be happy getting it to work! I doubt it could be done without a lot of work. The back of the seat would have to be modified along with the back of the cab where the striker is located.

Yes, it is the seat tilting forward to access behind. I was hoping it might not be a complicated issue since I have seen a modification kit for previous ford trucks without the latch. luckily I have not been having the latch not latching issue.

Just need a different latch mechanism that releases being pulled from the side.

I took a look at mine.
Here's how I would add a release pull to the driver's side.
Unzip the sides of the seat cover. Probably need to unfasten it along the bottom, then peel it up. (Didn't get a mirror and look at how the bottom is attached.)
I would probably bend a small piece of tubing (copper or plastic ink pen barrel etc) an attach it with wire ties or an r-clamp depending on what's in the seat back.
Then over on the driver's side I would grab my handy little grommet tool and install a small grommet (see pic where my finger is pointing) because I'm anal about appearance...
Use picture hanging wire, or better yet paracord, and attach it to the release mechanism where the existing strap attaches, feed it through the tube and across to the driver's side. Tie a loop and shove it out through the grommet. Bam, done. Put the seat cover back together.

Now, regarding having to slam the seat back to get it latch.
Easy adjustment. Hopefully...
First, need to determine if it's just too tight, or is the striker not aligned with the latch properly.
Mine had to be slammed moderately hard.
I used a torx bit and tightened the 2 bumper screws, which smashes the bumpers more. Mine now works slick as teflon. Or, you could add thin washers (or beer box cardboard) shims behind the striker screws, but shouldn't need to. If you do, make sure and mark its location carefully because it should "float" when loosened. (Full disclosure, I did not loosen mine and verify that.)
Which brings up the other possibility - misalignment. Look closely at the latch to see if there's signs of improper wear. Loosen the screws and move the striker accordingly. Another method that often works is loosen the striker screws until it can just barely move, then close the seat back. Then carefully unlatch it, and tighten the screws in that position. A little trial and error should get it.
I have even used huge channel locks, or a really big crescent wrench, or a pry bar, and bent a striker to adjust it.
