Things are out of control in our country and our major cities. I feel very lucky that I live in the woods and no longer near cities. UP in Northern Michigan we don't put up with this crap. Remember they used to shoot horse thief's.

I won't get political, but there are limits and restrictions to federal involvement in local matters.

Ineffective policing and prosecution are big problems, but insufficient reasoning by themselves to involve the feds.

The options are to elect better DA's and judges. And elect city leaders who will pressure the police commissioner to do his job or get fired. Or move to somewhere else where local leaders do their jobs.

Unless the local government is effectively violating rights that are protected by the Constitution or federal law, federal law enforcement must stand down.

Do NOT read this as an endorsement or indictment of any current politician. I'm just explaining the law as I understand it.
Exactly the problem. We keep perpetuating the problem with inept leaders and let our nation disinagrate. Chicago is a prime example for decades. Common sense says if it doesn't work fix it. Also, both parties have used fed enforcement in state level in emergencies. When cities are failing and society crumbling. Wouldn't you call that a emergency? It's not political. It's COMMON SENSE and values. I will not be the silent and watch this great nation become 2nd or 3rd world nation.

I took my Ranger to the park with a friend on the morning of 9 Oct 2025 to take some pictures of the falls, and then got a phone call that my vehicle had been broken into!

At least the tint captured most of the glass, but according to the local news media reported yesterday, over 125 vehicles were broken into in the area in the last week.

So still awaiting a Ford window to arrive, and the perp scratched the door, broke the mirror, and the internal door panel when crawling in and out of the vehicle.

Of course, no one saw anything in broad daylight!

At least I got the photo I wanted and one I didn't!

Sorry to hear about that! I also live in the MSP metro area and I have been nervous to bring my truck to certain places for this exact reason.

If the law allow federal enforcement in only specific situations, then that's the law. The laws that restrict federal involvement can be changed. Perhaps they should be changed. I might join you if that's your position. But ignoring the law because you think there's an emergency? That's why people couldn't go to church during COVID and why I couldn't evict non paying renters ... emergency conditions subjugated my rights.

To say the law shouldn't apply IS the problem. You don't fix lawbreaking by breaking the law.

Yonder-MN That was a great rendering of the Falls, brings back memories, fantastic park system. Sorry about the damage to your new Ranger. But at least you have water, here in S AZ where real rats (pack rats) did a $500 wire fix to my Ranger, we would like to see that much water. Hope you can post a winter picture when it turns to ice. SKOL.

What law exactly are you referring? Because national guard isnt conducting law enforcement. They are protecting government property, which includes government employees, vehicles, buildings etc etc. If people happen to be attacking those things well then they FAFO. Curious why people are mad NOW when the guard has been in NYC subways for a couple years due to crime... didnt hear much bitching then

Read my comments. I haven't accused anyone of anything. There was a comment about sending in federal law enforcement for the type of crime that started this thread. I absolutely do believe that such a move would be itself unlawful. If you're interpreting my words beyond that, then you're in error.

What a shame, can’t have nice things exactly… Some people have no respect for others property. Beautiful picture though.

That totally suks!! This is a good reason to buy a hidden spy cam to protect your investment. LEO is never around when needed scenario! Many cost less than a hundred dollars and really handy to hide some as the lens is about the size of a dime on many of them with built in SD card, wifi, apps etc.... just get what you prefer that suits your taste and scope out a place to hide it where you can get to it easily. I use velcro on mine and only turn it on when away from home. Unfortunately this happens all to often and we never hear about these things! Never leave anything visible that can attract a low life not even pocket change!
