This morning I got in my truck and headed into town. My center display and gauge cluster were both so dim that I could barely see what was displayed. What the heck? I tried adjusting the gauge brightness to the highest level and it didn’t help. Then I went to the center display and tried to increase the brightness there. Still no change.
I hadn’t changed any settings last night, the last time I drove the truck, I hadn’t gotten a OTA update. So I couldn’t fix it and didn’t know why it changed. I got into the truck a couple of hours later snd both displays were both really dim. I was trying to figure out why, what changed. Yesterday I had stopped at the post office and picked up my mail and had put it on the dash right in the center. I removed the mail which was still on the dash. Immediately my displays brightened up. DOH 🤓

Just thought I’d share this in case someone else experiences this.

HowTF do you change the brightness/etc on the center display besides the idiotgram buttons on the headlight switch?
My Bronco has display settings on the center display; easy to find and adjust. No joy on this Ranger.
I like to keep mine in dark mode; better suits my mental state...

Go to the general settings, under brightness. It’s right above the option to select dark mode.
I also prefer to keep the center display on dark mode.

You blocked the light sensor on the dash. Mine does that in morning before the sun comings fully up. It on night mode.

Your screen dimmed because there is a sensor in the middle of your dash near the windshield and something is covering it. I found this out because I installed a dash mat and if it shifted some the cut they had wasn't big enough.
