I purchased code orange tow hook covers in July from a place in Canada I believe. Already 1 has a crack in it. Has anyone gotten them elsewhere that are holding up and are truly code orange in color.
Even with careful surface prep and cleaning, they'll obviously never be as tough as proper powder coating, but mine are still looking pretty nice after a few thousand miles. I'm sure they'll get roughed up if I hook onto something though.
I'll just drop em and repaint them if they get too scruffy for my taste.
The rear were a real pain to mask off and paint, as they are perma-welded to the towing receiver. I didn't do a great job around the weld, but unless you look close, you'd never really notice it from a few feet away.
I went cheap, but I'd imagine you could find a place to properly powder coat the fronts at least. I've seen code orange powder coat for sale.
I got mine from Etsy a place called tuff trucks (in florida). I sprayed on some primer, code orange paint and clear coat and they've held up perfect for a year so far. It has to be the snap on covers, I tried the flex ones and paint won't stick. Hemi orange plasti dip is a decent match and works on the silicone covers though if you wanted to go that route.
