Anyone know if they make a cold air intake for the 2.7l ranger yet?

Not yet, I made a thread on the Engine Forum about putting the SB filter on though (the one the 2.7 Bronco uses)

Someone on here posted that the Bronco 2.7L CAI fits, with some minor mods. Sounds like that would be your best bet until they become available for the Ranger.

Why? It'll make your truck sound like a vacuum but won't make any power unless you're running a bigger turbo.

This has basically been modding turbo cars 101 for 20+ years. If there was power on the table, the OEs would have designed a better intake.

How do you explain all the dino tests being done showing an increase in performance?
A scam, because cold air intakes aren’t designed to increase performance on a dyno.

They are designed to reduce power loss when driving in varying warm ambient temperatures.
Dyno’s are almost always fixed conditions.

I've said it in many other forums, vehicles have had CAI from factory, even way back on my '95 F150.
But what people refer to now as a CAI, is basically a less restrictive intake path.
And a filter that is less restrictive allows more contaminants into the engine.

I agree, the aftermarket CAI's are akin to flipping the air cleaner lid in decades past. The sound was cool but no performance gain. I learned the hard way the oiled gauze filters actually do more harm than good.
