Does anyone here have any first hand experience on the Condor 2 XXL- Air on their RR? I am wondering if this will fit on a bed platform on the truck

What are the closed dimensions and base weight? I was not able to find any actual specifications on their website. That is very strange. It isn’t just about physically fitting, your platform and the truck bed must also be able to support the very high dynamic loads. It would probably be very unsafe at Ranger Raptor speeds off pavement, imagine hitting a sudden washout or dip at 60 mph. The Roofnest shell is plastic (ABS)… I have an Autohome Maggiolina RTT (hand laid fiberglass and foam core, very strong), but I wouldn’t consider putting that in my RR.

An email or phone call to Roofnest would be a good idea.

Are you familiar with Go Fast Campers? Their stuff is made to survive the abuse your RR will give it.

Im looking at options for shelter as I am planning a road trip from the east coast to the Alaska Highway upto Denali and Wrangell St. Elias. Considering RTT but there are a ton of negatives around weight on the truck, mobility, and setup and takedown. The other option is a Overlandish Basecamp V3

Well, for that trip you really need a hard side camper, grizzly bears are a hazard once you get to Montana, Idaho and points north. I guarantee you will not sleep soundly, if at all, in a tent when there are bears around. Some campgrounds like Glacier NP prohibit tents entirely at certain times.

“Hard-Sided Camping:
In some cases, particularly at Many Glacier Campground, tents may be temporarily restricted due to bear activity. This means you might need to sleep in your vehicle or have a hard-sided shelter, even if you have a tent.”

Even a GFC RTT won’t work in that case……

I have the Condor 2 XL, non Air. It's a great tent. There are cheaper options, and probably better quality options out there. It weighs a ton. I have it on top of a trailer. I think it's around 250 lbs. I'd not put this on my ranger if I were also doing any sort of trails.

I'd look at something from Freespirit or the various other options that put more priority on weight. It would also hang quite a bit off the back of the truck. I think it's about 74 inches long closed and the ranger bed is around 60.
