Configuring the R button?

I’ve watched several videos, they say it can be programmed to you specific modes, but don’t show how to do it. I think there might be something wrong with my truck. I saw something about the R button not working. I cannot figure out how to customize the settings to the modes I want? What am I doing wrong? Help, thanks!

I had to go out to the truck to remember how to do this. Pick the item you want on the steering wheel and then hold down the R button until the little bar moves all way across showing the save status. If you let up before it goes all the way across then it will not save.

As an example: Select the exhaust setting you want (i.e. quiet) and then hold down the R button. Watch the little bar go across while it is saving, after it is saved let up the R button and presto magico your new exhaust setting is now set when you use the R button. Do the same for the other items. There is not a bulk save (that I am aware of).

After you get everything set you press the R button twice to get it into R mode.

You can actually set up the RR as you want it, exhaust, steering, suspension, auto stop off, middle screen, and then save it all at once using the R button function. Works great

I programmed everything but the auto stop start, and the differential. How do you do that? Thank you.

you press all the corresponding buttons to set up your RR to your liking and then hold the R button to save it. once you start the truck up, press the R button and all of your saved preferences come back up.

Perhaps I missed something here - is the R button only available with the RR? Or is it something that is available to the Lariat’s and XLT? If yes then where is said button located?

The R button is for the RR.

Not dumb. Probably just wondering why this is in the general Ranger section instead of the Raptor section...
