My RR is about to be delivered and I plan on purchasing the Ford Premium Plan for 10yrs/125,00 miles. Does anyone know what this would cost? I also plan to get the Pro Cal Tune kit installed by my dealer. Will that effect the warranty and extended warranty plan?

As per the legal language, the Pro Cal tune if installed via their requirements (i.e., any ASE or Ford certified techs), does NOT affect the new vehicle limited warranty (3yr/36k bumper to bumper and 5y/60k powertrain) UNLESS the cause of the issue IS because of the Pro Cal.

Ford Performance offers a supplemental 3yr/36k warranty just in case something was to fail BECAUSE of the Pro Cal unexpectedly. So, there is risk, but it's limited. From what we have seen, generally Ford will honor warranty repairs on Pro Cal tuned cars that were dealer installed, and you do have a limited Ford Performance supplemental warranty for that limited time period.

Now if you add OTHER modifications, like a CAI, intercooler etc., you're adding to the risk of denial IF something happens because now, they have a non-Ford part on there that some dealers will point fingers at (regardless of whether there's actual documented proof). General consensus is, if you do a Pro Cal, keep the powertrain stock and it is what it is (at least until your past warranty). Some people do aftermarket intercoolers with the Pro Cal, but my advice is, wait until after warranty for that.

The Pro Cal on a stock truck is pretty darn good and personally, I think people get caught in the proverbial "ghost car" trap. Chasing the perfect non-existent performance car that has unlimited horsepower, never heat soaks, will last 10 million miles etc. and only costs $1...it doesn't exist!

I mean, there's an entire thread on people running low 13 second quarter miles with JUST THE PRO CAL! No upgraded IC's, no CAI's. That's my 2cents.

Nicely said! I had to go back to look at your occupation and confirmed my suspicions.... EE
