Dealer delivery driving new RR to you

Would you be concerned with a dealer driver (hired hand) putting the first 175 miles on the truck to deliver it (free) before you receive it? I suppose I shouldn't be concerned about it but you don't know exactly how they will be treating it on the way to your home. With a truck that has that much performance, how could a person drive it like a grandma the entire distance. It will be all interstate as well. As inconvenient as it is, I think I may choose to drive it home instead.

Maybe let the dealer and dealer let the driver know you want a download of the event data record (EDR) when you take delivery. It should show times at rpm, max rpm, etcetera. That's what it's for; to show what the performance/usage envelope was.

Just make sure your delivery paperwork states the delivered to you actual mileage as your basic and powertrain warranty will be on top of that and not detracted.

Ok guys, thanks for the input. I have decided to let the dealer deliver it but I will request the driver to change the rpms on the interstate every so often if possible.

I see you are in Atlanta. Sounds like you decided, but my dealer was about 120 miles from my house in Peachtree City. Used Uber to get to the dealer early on a Saturday morning at a cost of $100. Did the paperwork, inspected the RR and drove it back home arriving at noon. Its not so much having someone driving it as its wanting to go over the vehicle prior to taking possession (assuming that you have not already done that).

No way i'd let some kid put the first 175 miles on my 50k plus truck. I'd take an Lyft. I did as a matter of fact, though my trip was just about 80 miles.

Exactly what I did last week. About a 75 mile Lyft ride for a little over $100. Well worth it!

On second thought, I found where I could catch a Greyhound bus there for less than 50 bucks so I plan to go that route instead.
