I have searched and searched and I am not able to find anything official.

The Ford website says the 2.3l ecoboost in the Ranger is direct injection. Same for the Bronco.

Now the Ford website says the 2026 Mustang has both port and direct injection.

So is the official Ford website wrong? Why would they list it for 1 vehicle but not the other two.

I want to get a Ranger and the 2.3 fits my needs, however i want both port and direct injection. I know I can always get the 2.7.

Yes, it is

Ford quietly changed to the new 2.3 L MPC dual injection engine as of the 2025 model year

They were likely worried about hurting sales of existing 2024 2.3s, so they kept it out of what little (if any) advertising they did for the Ranger in North America.

The 2025 model on has a completely different (but still the same displacement) engine. The MPC includes both direct and port injection. Fear not.

I don’t think Ford has advertised for the Ranger in North America…at all.

Yes, and you have none to worry about..
My Vin# sticker which I purchase this year ,mid March of 2026 says 12/2025. When I open the hood at the dealership before test driving, four port fuel injections were staring straight at me😂 driver side. I just hit 1800 miles on it and about to do 2nd break on oil change and filter..
Best to you 2026..

It's only 1,704 vehicles that are affected. Just because your build date falls within that window doesn't mean that you are on the recall. Most people won't be on this recall list. The fact that one user who commented on this thread DID have the recall attached to his VIN leads me to believe that they do have it in the VIN lookup system.
and it’s rangers, explorers and broncos so maybe only a few hundred rangers, i hope 🤞
