Just picked up my new 2025 from the dealer

Does this sound healthy?

I checked dipstick, shows oil at mid level, no warning lights are going off

But it sounds "ticky" to me. Is it just break in?

At low RPM the tick is quite pronounced, more than it shows up on this video. At high rpm it sounds fine.

Should I add oil?

What does your raptor sound like at idle?

Thats kind of alot of ticking. I have had direct injection v8s, 6s and 4s and they arent that pronounced. I know the camera mic pics it up more than normal though.

I did an oil change in my wife's wrangler, which has the alfa romeo 2.0 turbo hybrid in it, and it ticked way more then normal so i changed the filter to another brand the tick went away. It seemed the anti drain back valve was not working in the first filter.

Maybe yours is the same way since it goes away at higher rpm?

Sounds normal. Ticking is most likely just the high pressure fuel pump or the injectors firing or both, which is normal.
Used to have a focus rs that had a very loud hp fuel pump it was annoying so I understand the concern. It would be a lot more obvious and pronounced if it was valve train tick or Lower end knock.

Thanks guys

I got a full extended warranty so if she blows up it’s covered anyways

I’m gonna do an oil change at 500 see if she calms down

Have dealer check for faulty cam phaser. My 2024 Ranger Raptor sounds nothing like this.

A sound similar to this was my cam phasers needing replaced. I would at least ask dealer to check.

For anyone still reading this, I went down to dealer to ask

They said tick is perfectly normal, the sound comes from the high pressure fuel pump at low RPM.

Ford actually puts a little cover over it to try and quiet it down.
