Curious, what kind of cash might a 3rd party system set a brother back?
Well, it all depends on how much you really want to spend. I spent over $3k on a premium system. I like my music, so I paid the $$ for a quality system. I could have spent less, and I could have spent more. It all depends on what you are willing to spend and what you perceive as a good return on your investment...

I'm planning on trying out the stock non B&O system for a few weeks and seeing how I can adjust, both on the infotainment itself but also the equalizer on my Spotify app as that is how I stream music.

If it is as bad as some say, I'm planning on upgrading the 4 door speakers with Kicker KS series speakers. I'll leave the tweeters be as they seem to be glued in

IMO, speaker upgrade and add a sub-woofer may be all that is needed. Personally, I don't need any of that. I'm not in my truck that long, and road noise kinda negates high end audio.

I just picked up my 2026 XLT and tried out the stock 6 speaker setup. The sound is pretty ok for base model. I have my 2016 VW Golf R and was w/o premium audio (8 speaker factory) and I can say they are about the same. I later upgraded my VW with Hertz component set for the front tweeter & woofer, and a JL audio compact subwoofer at the back, with Audison DSP.

The only thing I did for now on my Ranger is tweaking the EQ, both on-screen EQ and on my Android audio player. My FiiO M21 does not have Android Auto built in so I have to use Bluetooth (SBC). I use white noise & pink noise to do a basic & nonprofessional calibration EQ for that 6 speaker system. I start with -4 treble, +1 mid, and 0 bass. I found the tweeter on this truck is surprisingly, too bright, and can confirm with spectrum view when I doing the calibration. I then use PowerAmp EQ app to further tweak the EQ as attached. Still not perfect flat but better than where it came from.
If anyone interested in the setting, here is what I did:
Preamp: -7db
124Hz 0.63Q +4.0 Low Shelf
183Hz 4.00Q +3.7 Band Pass
550Hz 4.00Q -2.4 Band Pass
760Hz 1.05Q +5.8 Band Pass
1600Hz 4.00Q +1.7 Band Pass
3220Hz 4.00Q -1.3 Band Pass
4900Hz 1.00Q +4.1 High Shelf
8500Hz 1.42Q +1.8 Band Pass
9500Hz 0.74Q +4.2 Band Pass
15800Hz 0.58Q -3.0 High Pass

I don’t have a Pro microphone so I cannot guarantee that would be accurate. I use my iPhone 15’s mic when I tuned it. I plan to re-tune it soon with my iPad Pro mic (probably be better).

I plan to do the sound deadening next. To compensate the road & wind noise, I turned on the dynamic compressor on that app, so I can hear more details without changing volumes constantly and not being too loud in a sudden.
