Dome light is a button!

Maybe I’m saying something everyone else already knows, or maybe someone else will be helped by this.

I have young kids (at the “I’m afraid of the dark” stage) and driving in rural areas at night they’re often afraid in the dark back seat. I thought the only way to turn on the rear dome light was to hit the switch in the upper console, which also turns on the map lights, and it’s annoying to drive that way. By accident tonight I discovered the entire dome light is a button to turn it on independently. Previously I didn’t see a toggle switch on the dome light so I assumed it couldn’t be turned on independently, but I was wrong. Hope this helps someone else!

Ya know...I think every joke about us guys never reading instruction manuals is true. We usually figure it out on our own after a few hours, a few beers and fiddling around with the switches and computer programs. In 1/2 the time we could have found the answer in the owners manual (its down loadable). Dome lamp operation is on page #106 of the 2024 Ranger Owners Manual - Yes - - I'm guilty too! Me & my brew find answers too

Is there a way to have it turn on when car is initially turned off or doors open?
