Just FYI for anyone that has the truck coming via rail, there's a chance that your truck gets taken off the train and sits at the rail yard for anywhere from days to multiple weeks until a convoy picks it up. This has nothing to do with Ford and is just the consequence of logistics managed by the third party shipping company.

I stumbled on this Bronco6G thread with a poll asking how long people's orders were waiting at the railyard and the results are interesting.

Here's the same poll from the Maverick forums

It isn't the biggest sample size, but the gist is you'll probably have to wait a week or more for your truck to be pulled out of the railyard and hauled to your specific dealership. And no, you won't be allowed to drive to the railyard and pick up your truck there.

you are posting data that is 2 years old and one of those cars is produced in Mexico not Michigan . a lot has gone in in the world since then. this is a worthless post unless your goal is to make people more aggravated than they already are

I'd welcome any more recent datasets if you can point to them. If you can't find any more recent, this is the best data we have. 2 years old is better than the 4-5 and 10 year old polls I also found.

I'm not sure what difference it makes that one is made in Mexico versus Michigan. If a Bronco from Michigan is riding a train to texas railyard #123 and a Maverick from Mexico is riding a train to the same texas railyard #123, they are both going to sit in that same railyard until they're selected for a convoy to the target dealership. The source of that specific vehicle doesn't determine how long it's going to sit.

Odds are some people will still see their trucks sitting for weeks in the railyard and everyone should understand there's a chance it can happen. I watched the same phenomenon happen 8 months ago on the colorado/canyon forums.

Always been part of the game. My Tacoma sat in the rail yard for 3 weeks before it made it to me

In conclusion, you could be waiting a day or you could be waiting weeks. Just like the first post said. As mentioned above, this is just part of the process and unfortunately not in Ford's control.

And a more positive note…at least we KNOW it’s built and on its way. No more rumors and speculation😁

This is nothing new all cars traveling by rail or ship will be sitting at a destination yard waiting to be picked up by transport or another train and timeframe all depends on region the vehicle is traveling to.
My wife is a senior project coordinator at BNSF and deals with everything from Rail to OTR for commodities ranging from glass cullet to the largest items moved here in the US.
There are a lot of moving parts that have to fall into place and can be a struggle depending on region even for the most common items.

I dont have recent data sets but that doesnt change the fact that the logistics of goods trasportation has changed frequently in the post covid world. I just dont see what the benfit of posting two year old data is when everybody is already annoyed anyway with a doom and gloom post title.

So, is there a map or a source to know if your truck will be rail shipped or car hauler based on where you live? I am in Ohio, so wondering if that is close enough to MI that it would not need to have rail involved.

Check your window sticker. Just left of your total MSRP it will say convoy or rail.

I don't disagree that things have changed since 2022 but this is the most recent aggregated dataset I could find. Looking at the orders from 2024 broncos that I've attached, it doesn't seem to be much different. You could get lucky and wait 1-2 days or you might be unlucky and wait 6 weeks. I stopped scrolling after the second page of search results but there's plenty more data on the bronco/maverick/mach-e/f150 lightning forums for someone that wants to waste their time aggregating more 2023-2024 order data.

It's not about doom and gloom, it's just being realistic and accepting the reality of the situation that this isn't amazon prime and shipping big items can be very delayed by many different variables.

I'll likely post the same poll up in a month or two on this forum just to see how the distribution compares

I have read that a 250-mile radius around MAP is the truck limit and after that rail is more cost effective.
