Hi,

Just wanted to share an exhaust modification that I recently had done to my truck. The stock exhaust was fine but I wanted a deeper, smoother, tone. Based on what has been done on the 3.5 engines, I knew that the trombone method was the most efficient way to balance the exhaust pulses as they enter the muffler. My rough measurements yielded a 25” delta across the left and right bank exhaust piping lengths from the right and left downpipes to the muffler. Rough math indicated that I needed approximately an 8” diameter circular (trombone) section to achieve equal length. The added piping is from mandrel bent 2.5” stainless u bend pieces that were mig welded into place while on a lift. The result accomplishes my goals, however, I think that cutting the piping a few inches prior to the muffler, removing the mid pipe at the slip and donut flange, then tig welding the trombone section into place may yield better results cosmetically and acoustically. I have a mediocre in-cabin sound clip while in Baja mode on my commute to work and a few photos of the modification for viewing, while I work on getting fly by clips on each exhaust mode. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. Total cost for materials and labor was $330.

What's up, dude.
I am slowly making my laundry list for my new RR and budget things at the same time, it's like trying not to use your extra cash at the gun store.

You?

You can see my build thread. I've already started collecting parts. Lol. Still have 2-3 months to the truck arrives.

Do you have an aftermarket diverter/blowoff valve or spacer? The turbo relief is pretty noticeable in your audio
Upr spacer. Not sure if I love it.

Quiet, normal, sport, Baja exhaust modes in sport mode with WOT. Obviously the exhaust mode loses effectiveness at wide open throttle. I’ll try to get some stationary revs. Very livable yet very nice when mashing the gas.
