These mounts are heavily used by motorcyclists and you probably can find them at Cycle Gear and of course Amazon.

I wanted my weapon concealed and a small pistol is perfect under the Ranger seat. To use a full size it’s just a matter of holster choice BUT, it will probably touch your leg and not be as inconspicuous. Using this idea for a full size pistol would work better under a F150 seat.

As far a touching the floor or bouncing out, never happened to me, and moving the seat is not a problem.
I’ve had a 38 Special, SR 22 in this holster also, again a universal holster.

Another option is mounting something under the key/start button, a full size may fit there.
I have a knife fixed on that location.

FYI, my Ruger Security 380 with light fits nicely in the top glovebox and the lid closes, I hid it from casual view with a brochure. I do wish that box would lock…. I very rarely leave a firearm unattended, but I had a doctor’s appointment and had to put it somewhere.

Why not just put it in the back of the passenger flap?
A pistol is sharp and heavy, the seat pockets are made for lightweight stuff like maps or the required Raptor accessory: paper vomit bags... And it will fall to the bottom and scratch the leather and be hard to retrieve.

I considered attaching a holster inside my console glove box but wanted quick access. It’s definitely deep enough for a full size pistol.

I have a lock box I keep under the front seat(cabled to the seat rail) when I need to keep it in the truck because I cant carry it somewhere.

this is what i use, too. unfortunately the cable could be defeated in seconds with some snips which im guessing most criminals looking for firearms have handy.

Right, but at least a little more challenging than leaving it in the glovebox or center console like others have mentioned. Also, Its usally for a matter of moments if I have to go into a bank or some other restricted building.

Wanted to test this before I mentioned it, but if you are going in a building for an extended period of time, my lock-box fits nicely in that rear-seat storage cubby on the passenger side. There is a circular bar behind the seat you can wrap the cable around.

Technically no more secure than locking it under the driver/passenger seat like most of us keep these boxes, but definitely a bit more obscure. In most cases where these guys are spending 10-20 seconds per car looking for guns, they may not think to raise the back seat and check that spot.

Actually, since I removed the sub from back there I have more space. Maybe Ill move tthe lockbox behind the rear seat, good looking out.

I also utilize the console vault setup for my bond arms double barrel, the safes lid is spring loaded so I keep the center console down and if a situation ever arises it’s right there. I did also notice that there are fabric “drapes” on the seats between them and the center console, if one were so inclined, they could remove the seats and have some sort of holster stitched into it.

Well in the early 70’s we had gun rack over the back window in our trucks for our rifles and shotguns every where we went. School parking lot full of guns. We never had to worry about locking our vehicles or homes, keys normally left in vehicles. Those days are long gone unfortunately
