Man, i was going to take a picture because i thought of this thread. I knew i should have. I will try and plug it in tomorrow to get a pic to show all the options.

One thing i saw that i almost turned on that i thought could be kind of fun was line lock. If its actual brake line lock, it could be kind of fun for car shows or things like that.

Its the same button that lets me choose sport, eco, alippery, normal. It just gave me more options
The problem is: Local Ford distributor sold us the XLT trim but there is no selectable modes neither such button.
If the XL have this… I’m curious which model did they sold us??

@Tunisian
oh man, that is weird. since you are in tunisia, i wonder if that is the issue? i think all us spec models have the options for normal, eco, sport, and slippery. then, if a person wants the other stuff, you have to have a 4x4 packaged truck, or forscan to turn on the modules. but since you are in a world market truck, i have no idea what would be the normal.

what does your center console look like? my buttons are between the shifter and the arm rest of the center console.

i know someone going to tunisia in a few weeks that has a 24 ranger also. he is very good with forscan but i just don't know how free his schedule is while he is there since its for work, and i have no idea where he is going while he is there. he is not on the forum or i would direct him here

i asked about the console because if you have the wiring, i bet you could plug the buttons in and activate the modules in forscan and be good to go. then the only issue is why does your truck not have them and is that a world truck issue? our member in mexico with the black model had them, if i remember right, though.

It's actually Brazil, not Mexico.

The black model we have here is a XLS version with 4x2 and tons of extras visual features.

Found out why i'm not able to change Splash Screen: APIM module not showing on my forscan. That splash options I posted yesterday were in some other module.

So I started my research and got some possible reasons:
- Software: maybe I got an old version of Forscan. It was not the case because I downloaded it for the first time this week and got sure it was the latest version.
- Hardware: maybe the scanner I borrowed doesn't support all modules read. It was also not the case because I tested it on my neighboor's Ranger and it shows the APIM module.

Continuing my research, found this: "Forscan does a network test when you first connect it and it only shows modules that talk back. So if it's not showing the APIM, either the wiring for the network for the APIM is disconnected or the Fuse is blown that powers the APIM with the key on."

Strangely enough, I had a problem with my big screen this week. It was not turning on. Just a black screen. Tried the volume and seek hold thing and nothing worked. Had to disconnect the battery plugs and connect them again so it came back to life.

Anyone have any ideas?

You could press volume - and title + on the steering wheel to reboot the Sync 4.
Than you should delete the profile.
Crosscheck the latest version of forscan and drivers for your OBDII Adapter.

I tried the hold volume - and title + but didn't work. Only worked after I unppluged the battery cables.

By delete the profile you mean on forscan? Will I loose anything?

UPDATE: I backed up my profile and deleted it. Connected again on forscan and APIM IS HERE!!!! Thanks so much @Sequoia

Updates: I was able to access APIM module and change the splash screen. But somehow it's not working very well. I choose and write a new value to that, sometimes it works right away, sometimes it just shows the factory splash vertically stretched.

Also, I chose the F150 Anniversary splash. It worked perfectly. So I kept looking for other options. When I decided to get back to the same F150 Anniversary splash it just didn't worked again.

Maybe I should give more time between changes and not keep continuously changing from one to another?

About my ranger it’s a 4x4 AT 2L diesel tuned to 210hp
How does that tuning work? Please tell me more. Here in Brazil we have some big tuning companies but none of them were able to come up with any solution.

Thank you for your valuable feedback.
First of all, if your friend needs anything here it will be my pleasure to assist him.
About my ranger it’s a 4x4 AT 2L diesel tuned to 210hp and for the anecdote it cost 53k$ and with financing it reaches 62k$
here is the same model in ford showroom:

Very cool truck and i wonder if it being a diesel is why you dont have the trans buttons?

I will tell my friend

The only good thing is that it’s a diesel but I am angry about the false advertisement about the xlt trim ! As a previous Ranger generations owner, when I hear or read XLT I assume a certain number of options that I didn’t find when the truck is delivered…

I bet. I would be too. I totally understand. Do you have a blank filler plate on your center console so if the harness is there for the transmission button assembly, you could just plug it in and turn everything on in forscan?
