S&B has been my favorite/easiest to get. The COBB intercooler is great. Process west stage 2 is bigger, but more expensive and harder to get.

The COBB intercooler does retain the AGS

Winfield, I'm about to start preparing my Ranger Raptor for your stage 2. I have the CVF intercooler (and running your stage 2) on my Gen 3 and have had no issues with it. Is there any reason to go with Cobb or Process West over the CVF for the Ranger? It's half the price, but if the performance is better, I'll spend the extra for the Cobb or Process West. I'm in hot, humid Texas.

I believe you are right about the Wagner after watching install videos. It is also FAR cheaper than the Cobb. That is the route I will end up going, no need right now since we are in the middle of the coldest winter in a long time here in Maine!

AYYYY nice to see someone else from my neck of the woods - let me know if you ever want to go up north and hit some trails!

Thanks. I will not be doing bigger turbos, just stage 2 on 93. Based on that, is Cobb worth the $1150 vs. $650 for the CVF?

CVF will work as well. It's better than stock for sure

How was the install for the CVF intercooler?

I installed a CVF intercooler. I tried leaving the grill shutter system in place but I found it to be impossible as the top of the intercooler interferes with the top of the shutter system frame not allowing it to be pushed up into place. The shutters themselves are very close to the new intercooler but I bet they wouldn't interfere with the new intercooler if the upper part of the shutter system frame was trimmed. Once I removed the shutter system, I was not going to start modifying it because I don't think it serves any useful purpose so I didn't put it back. Once separated form the grill shutter assembly, I zip tied the grill shutter motor to a harness that runs across the lower part of the bumper just below the intercooler cut out. The shroud that mounts to the rear of the stock intercooler is swapped over to the CVF intercooler and lined up well on 3 of the 4 corners but the 4th corner couldn't be secured because it didn't line up. With the other 3 corners secured, the 4th corner doesn't move at all so I didn't make any modifications.

Did you have to pull the bumper to remove the grille shutters? I was already planning on taking the flaps off and leaving the frame so all the rubber flaps remain to direct the air.

No. There are two bolts holding the shutter system in place from above. I think they were 8mm but I don’t recall. Your best bet is to use a short ratcheting wrench as there is very limited space to get anything else up there.

OK. So you use their bracket and removed the front shutter. If you look at my thread I just relocated the ACC in order to free up all airflow to the intercooler. I'm going to try and reuse the stock frame and just pull the flaps.

The bracket that shipped with the intercooler must be for some other application, it isn't used. The plastic frame with non powered shutters on the back of the cooler in the pics is transferred from the old cooler to the new one.

From what I know you're supposed up attach the ACC to that bracket and replace the stock shutter assembly with it. When i asked them for instructions they sent me the link to Whipple 's instructions and said go with that. Lol.
