Hard Downshifts When Stopping

I am having the exact same issue with my 2024 Ranger XLT purchased May 2024. Issue started 7000km and still happening 12000km. Hard downshift into first when braking - this symptom happens sporadically but there does seem to be a more routine or daily problem with shifting in lower gears (1 to 2) accelerating and decelerating. Anyone get any answers from a dealer or mechanic?

Mine does that on sport mode, hard downshift when braking and almost stopped. I thought it was fairly normal since i have had that issue in other transmissions of other manufacturers.

I assumed its because of all the dang gears and everything being electronic now.

I need to do a first trans fluid change since i am almost at 5k miles. I want to see what the dluid looks like coming out.

I have a 2025 Ranger Raptor and also have hard downshifts, but only in sport mode. There is a slight delay from a stop in normal mode as well. My only gripe about the truck. No tune available yet so I thought I would try the Roar Pedal for now. I was a bit sceptical, but I installed it this morning and ran some errands around town and I like it. I left the setting it is set in upon install which is sport with 3 bars. Took care of my normal mode issue and seems to be much smoother in sport when coming to a stop, but I haven’t really had time to prove that out. I’ll take it off once the tune is finally available, but for now I’m satisfied with it.
