Off topic, but I'm reading over my dealerships "extra coverage" contract right now deciding if I want to pay for it or not. The salesman had me sold on it when they were reserving the truck and said "It covers all oil changes for 2 years. If you curb your wheels or get any damage to wheels or tires, its completely covered for the 2 years." And he mentioned a lot more, but I dont remember the exact details. Can't trust a car dealerships word for anything.
Well, the contract is 4 pages long. The first page is where you fill out your info, and definitions for terms used in the contract. The first page also mentions that if your truck uses synthetic oil, then they will only do 2 oil changes for the first 2 years. Top half of page 2 is what is covered (I may have to pay a deductible, and it is up to the dealerships descretion as to whether or not they fix the truck with new, remanufactured, or used parts) and there is no mention of wheels or tires. It's literally just drivetrain. But if you add any aftermarket parts or modify the truck in any way, or have your oil changed at another Ford dealership, the contract is void. The last 2.5 pages are listing everything that the contract does not cover.
I agree. Can't trust a car dealerships word for anything.
