Heated steering wheel stopped working

Just as the title says, the wheel heater no longer functions. It got pretty hot when it was working for the few days it was cold enough.
However, trying it the last couple of days and it doesn’t get warm at all.

Anyone else experience this?

EDIT: It was, in fact, NOT the fuse. Still not sure what's wrong.

You just made me realize mine doesn’t work because mine has never gotten anywhere near hot.

I tried swapping fuses today and it appears to have not fixed the issue. How about you, still acting up?

Tough to say for me.

It was getting very hot when first got the truck, like hotter than other heated wheels I've felt, but it was also very cold out in early April. Then I installed a dashcam that required a fuse tap. I tapped into the "Steering Wheel Control Module." Then I realized the steering wheel wasn't getting hot anymore, but the weather was also starting to get warmer so I removed the fuse tap and put it back to how it was.

When I tried the heater again, I honestly just couldn't tell if it was on or not, I don't know if it's because it's summer and I just can't feel it, but I genuinely just can't tell. What I can say for certain is that it has never gotten as hot as it did early on. I'm talking so hot that I thought it was like a star dying. Like it reached critical mass and then just petered out.

It has been an interesting situation but I hope that kinda gives you an understanding.

It may be that items like heated seats and steering will not function when ambient temps are above a certain degree. Just like the A/C compressor will not run if ambient temp is below a certain degree.
I found this statement in other Ford truck and car manuals;

Note: In warm temperatures, the steering wheel quickly reaches its maximum temperature and the system reduces the current to the heating element. This could cause you to think that the system has stopped working but it has not. This is normal.

My heated steering does work. I tried it this morning.
But when I tried turning it on this afternoon after being in the garage (84 deg outside temps, 95 degrees in my detached garage), it did not work.
The owner manual says there is a sensor that regulates the wheel temp, so that may be why it is not working in hot conditions.

but....similar issues were reported on a 2021 F-150 forum post. One with similar issues suggested they needed to replace the steering wheel, because there is a modul there and sensor that controls it and some other steering functions. Ugggg. Now I will be trying it again to see if it is a problem or not. If not working, will have to take it in to a dealer. Yeah i saw that in the manual. But it's so vague about what warm temperatures are. I was driving through Montana mtn passes today in heavy rain, 46 degrees. i couldn't tell if it was totally off or insanely weak.

I’ll keep testing it. Not sure why they need additional sensor to limit heat when user literally must click into screen and activate it in a very intentional way.

I have a similar issue. Albeit my steering wheel heater never worked (unlike others who had heat at one point). Truck only a month old and with the colder mornings the heated wheel or lack thereof was starting to annoy me. Instead of pulling fuses figured I’ll make an appointment since it’s a brand new truck and let them take a look. Well… was just informed they have to order a new steering wheel which of course is on back order. No ETA. Service advisor said they had to take pictures and something out of the norm since the truck was less than three months old.
Bummed. Love the truck. Hoping this is not any type of future predictions.

I have had issues with my heated steering wheel as well. It worked once while I was on my joy cruise back home with the truck from the dealership after driving it off the lot! I have had the truck for less than 2 weeks and since we've seen snow and the steering wheel heater refuses to work. I have attempted to get it working multiple ways thinking that a remote start may give it appropriate time to start up and be plenty warm by the time I got in, unfortunately this was not the case. I'd love to hear any solutions others discover!
