Came back from MN to ND last night. Very cold outside temps. I typically keep the HVAC on Auto and just use the temp control to slow the fan down and/or change the cab temps.

I noted on the way to MN on a very cold day I was down to the mid 60s to keep the cab temp from gettting to warm.

Last night I litterly had to toggle between 60 and LOW. At 60 it would blow HOT air and on LOW it would blow cold air.

I assume this is all software controlled???

Anyone else ever had that issue.

Happened in my Wrangler as well. Wiggled the arm controlling the flapper for heat under dash.

Could be the HVAC Blend Door actuators?

I was also thinking a blend door. But I have no idea how it actually works. Does "auto" run the AC and heater at their min/max temp and just blend the extremes? Or does it run the AC at various temps and the heater at various temps and blend?

I have a ticking sound from my unit with HVAC on auto, I am pretty sure it is the blend door actuators, not sure which as I am told there are several, more so with dual climate control. Mine is noisy on the driver side right behind the center display screen. My understanding is that they are constantly moving to keep a constant temp inside the cabin, which explains why my popping noise is random but all the while when I am driving, more so at a complete stop when the motor shuts down and restarts. I hate it, but fear my dash being torn apart to fix, but will have to do it while under warranty. Waiting to see if it gets worse and other actuators go, might as well do them all at once lol
