How to stop Sync from trying to connect when no phone

I get this message that says Unable to Connect, every 30 seconds or so, when my phone is not I the truck. . You can tap Cancel but it keeps doing it.
I cannot figure out how to get it to stop, for example how to deselect android auto. Seems like it should be obvious. Seems like it should try connecting once then stop trying since it can't detect my phone. I shouldn't have to remove my phone from the list...

I have the same thing with my phone with me, only if I forget to disconnect from my VPN when I get in my truck.

I can select android auto from the app menu, but can't figure out how to stop it!

I have never had mine do that but then again I never paired my phone to my truck.

I have had the message, but it stops when I hit cancel. My issue is when using Waze with Android Auto. When following the driving directions it will stop and I have to hit "continue drive". This can happen several times even when connected via USB cord.

When I hit cancel it goes away, then comes back about every 30 seconds.

I don't have a solution, but here to say the same happens to me, and it gets annoying.

If my phone is in the truck, I figured out how to exit android auto. But it connects again on restart...
It's not often I go anywhere without my phone so usually it's not an issue.
You'd just think there would be a simple Stop Trying button...
