How to prevent vehicle from automatically turning on wifi

Every time I start my truck and it connects to my phone, it turns the wifi on. Is that something that is necessary and, if not, how do I turn it off? I do want it to connect to android auto, but I don't like that wifi gets turned on and doesn't turn off when I get out.

i hate that too. the only thing i have figured out, since i like to listen to fm instead of the android auto music, is to let it hook to the phone for maps but deny access the other stuff. then maps comes up but i can still listen to local fm stations and oddly, still can make phone calls through the truck

Android auto and Apple car play connects to your car via wifi, not Bluetooth. Wifi needs to be on in order to use wireless android auto/carplay. If you don’t want it turning on wifi, then your only option is to disable wireless and connect via a cable
