I just bought a second set of wheels+tires but now I have some questions:

- Is possible for me to install the tpms sensors in both sets at once, so I can just change the wheels and the car recognise the new tires or the car just recognize 4 tires?

- In case it only recognises 4 tires, what will happen while I'm using my secondary set of tires? Any lights or messages on my cluster? Any beeping or something?

Thanks.
It works!

If they dont work, i think you can turn of tpms in forscan so you dont get a light in the dash.

Guys, today I enabled the TPMS system on my Ranger. It's all working pretty well!

As it's still very fresh in my mind, I'm gonna write a full review on the whole process.

First of all, we have find out what sensor to use. On this post I guess there is plenty of information on which sensor/frequency on each country, but I guess I'm the first Brazilian here in the forum and so I had to dig that information by myself. I contacted my dealership and explained what I was up to. Since my car don't have this sensor, they had to get the VIN number from a LIMITED model (which comes with factory tpms) so they could find the correct part number. It turns out BRAZILIAN RANGER uses the F2GZ1A189AB sensor (315mhz). They tried to sell it to me but it was WAAAAAY too expensive. So I went online and bought it from Aliexpress (from china) from around 40USD with taxes and shipping (just a disclaimer here: I know I could find it even cheaper on the US, but the shipping and taxes would double it).

I was not sure if I would need the TPMS Tools to make it work so I bought it anyway. It was around 10USD.

With all in hands, I called a friend of mine and borrowed a OBDLink MX+, downloaded Forscan, got a Extended license trial and got to work.

First of all, as I was not sure that sensor would work (even because I wasn't 100% sure they had the right frequency and also because I bought it from china), I got the 4 sensors and placed each of them on top of each tire and tested pairing them before getting extra costs for installing them inside the tire itself.

Open Forscan, connected to the vehicle, started opening all the modules (NON-ASBUILT) and searching for "TPMS". Here are some of the values I remember changing:

TPMS by Location Units from NONE to PSI (Brazil standard)
TPMS by Location Feature from DISABLED to ENABLED
TPMS - Default units from BAR to PSI
TPMS Menu from DISABLED to ENABLED
TPMS Placard Pressure Display from DISABLED to ENABLED
TPM - Auto Locate from DISABLED to ENABLED
TPM - Temperature Display from DISABLED to ENABLED

Did all that and nothing happened. So I opened every module again and searched for other words like "tire" and "pressure". As it turns out, I had to enable one last valeu as well, which I cannot remember now. Later I will check it and edit this post.

After enabling this last one, BOOOOOOM! Got a LOW TIRE LIGHT and a message that said something like "something wrong with your tire measurement system" (not exactly those words).

Ok. The system was activated. Time to test the sensors. Found a video on YouTube showing how to train them (LINK: How to use a TPMS Trainer Tool for Ford Sensors) and started the process. The only thing the video was not very clear about is the BRAKE thing. When he says BRAKE, you step on the brake pedal and release it, do not keep pressing the pedal. I did the training in the exact same sequence as he shows on the video (the car tells you on the cluster as well):
1) start with the driver's front
2) go to passenger's front
3) go to passenger's rear
4) go to driver's rear

They all worked just fine. After that I took the car to a tire shop and had them installed.

Now let's see how long it takes to show the info on FordPass app.

Thanks you guys for all the info. This forum is awesome!
I followed your instructions and bought the little grey box you said you used and trained my new sensors today. Worked perfectly

¿Did you remember what you activate?

Hey guys, quick question - Can activating this compromise the warranty in any way?
Some say it compromises, some say it does not.

You said "Did all that and nothing happened. So I opened every module again and searched for other words like "tire" and "pressure". As it turns out, I had to enable one last value as well, which I cannot remember now. Later I will check it and edit this post."

¿Did you remember what you activate?
I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was something related to "tire" or "pressure". If you can't find it I can check again.
