I enjoy my 2025 2.3L MPC too.

Transmission.

I would like to drive mine in Sport Mode but prefer to get better gas mileage.
In Eco or Normal mode the Transmission does not drop down quickly. Also holds a higher gear. At times i wish it was in a lower gear. Transmission works well for me.

I look over the advantages of the 2.7L. Had a 2.3L in my 4G, ok with standard Tranny.
Not going to trailer anything close to that 7500lbs. 2.3L is more then adequate for me.

These two things were big for me. The 2.7L is crammed into the engine compartment.
For cooling and extra space to work on the 2.3L is better. I am presuming to work on the engine is less hours because almost everything is more accessible. Yes Port and direct injection sold me on the MPC.

The Wet Belt would not concern me. You will still have to replace the timing belt if you put considerable miles or years on it.

I may let my truck sit in the Summer while i ride my motorcycle. Make sure i keep on top of things. Trickling Battery. Getting it out and doing a full heat cycle.
One thing I found interesting lately was the coolant hoses on a McClaren would shrink if let sit. I would consider that.

If you come from an old truck the fail safe systems are excessive. The Lariat will even put the truck in park for you if you are complacent enough to do that. All this dumbing down of society stuff. All these sensors is why i will buy a warranty for hopefully a long time owner.

I really like the remote start for warming up the oil for the turbo. I start the vehicle before i get into it. Hopefully giving longer life to turbo.

i feel like the new ranger will last really well. the transmission has been great in my truck, my son's truck (he has had his a year and is at 20k already), and my father in law's truck. we all have the 2.3, though f-i-l has the new 2.3.

this trans is already doing better, complaints wise, then the 10r80. and it came out first in 2020 in other ford vehicles so its probably fairly easy to see their issues just googling it.

i am totally comfortable keeping this model ranger for a very long time. if i end up getting rid of my 2wd stx, it will only be for a 4x4 xlt and it will still have the 2.3
