Indicarbon vents installed. Install was pretty easy. Side vents are only a small p.i.t.a as you have to remove the clips from oem vents to reuse. But they pop off using a plastic pry tool. The instructions say to pop out the fender liner and go from behind. Um, yeah, h*** with that, you do not have to do that. I can't believe they even would assume you'd have to do that.

Pros. Esthetically they look great. Lightweight. Fairly easy install
These are flow thru. Allowing heat to escape. Oem is not. Contrary to what I thought. They are closed off.

Cons. Hood vents, While they may be carbon fiber, the flow thru design leaves me hoping that no water will enter the vents. ( you can see the back of the oem vents. It has a spongy seal). I'm worried about possible corrosion on the hood with water getting in between the layers of metal.
Side vents are fine and look no different.

Overall I'm pleased with the purchase. I contacted indicarbon and let them know the concerns with the hood vents. For the cost is think the design could be a lil closer to oem quality.

do you think by introducing another exit for the heat, you are changing the factory designed air paths that allow high and low pressure zones in the engine bay? like, since you have those opening now, the normal high pressure air created by the hood and firewall is now a low pressure zone so the air going through the radiator is now able to go up and heat the intake and stuff versus the stock set up where that high pressure air forced the hot air down and under the truck where it was sucked out by the faster moving low pressure air?

i ask because sometimes adding vents to the hood end up causing overheating while moving for those reasons. some jeep guys have experienced that issue when they added hood vents on the cherokees, which have a smaller tighter engine bay like the v6 rangers have.

I did the poor version. Dremel tool and a file. If you look at the videos of the Ford Performance RR running Baja, theirs are completely open.
