Has anyone done a Lariot to XLT Instrument Cluster swap? I had swapped my 2017 Mustang GT machanicle cluster for a 2018 digital cluster and it was basically plug and play. the new cluster interpeted all the data and displayed it correctly. I'm thinking If i swap in a new Lariot cluster to my new '24 Ranger XLT, it should just function, what say you all?

Good Luck - keep us posted.

I'd be interested in this too. But trying to find a wrecked lariat right now may be difficult.

What's different about the Lariat vs XLT cluster?
5G clusters were different, but the Lariat cluster was hideous with the large center dial.

It's larger and has better Graphics. instead of just a standard Sdeedo, the can have both the Speedo and Tach and a set of round gauges in the middle. Lots of shots on youtuby. Much better, should be plug and play. Sheesh, i uprgraded my '17 Mustang mechanical gauge cluster to the then new '19 digital one, and that was plug and play. Same year and model should be a piece of cake. New they are around 1200. Got to look for wrecks. You can set the millage, as long as it's greater than what's on the cluster, in Forscan.

Interesting. I wonder if those features are there already, just not activated in the software.
It was that way with FX4 features in 5G. All 4x4 trucks had the software for terrain management and trail control, they were just not enabled in the programs. So, users bought the FX4 switch, and used FORSCAN to enable the FX4 software features, and boom...FX4 on a budget.

I think the Display chooses how to display the data it receives from the vehicle.

Plus $300 core charge.
I wonder if they take an XLT as a core if this is a Lariat cluster?

Where in ForScan would you find the ODO section? I was looking in the spreadsheet and didn't see anything.

Is the odometer reading stored in the cluster or ECU? On older vehicles, the cluster had to match the ECU, otherwise it wouldn't work. That was to keep people from taking a cluster from a low milage vehicle and putting it in a high milage vehicle. But I hear new vehicles are plug and play and easily swapped.
