It’s happening and it won’t be good. Fortunately my company and a lot of others planned for this six months ago. Sorry Lean guru’s smart companies built inventory…stick it in your Kanban kaizen belt boys. Did Ford and others do the same, probably not. Every week of the strike will impact delays a month. Buy your Rum now it’s going to get EXTREMELY expensive soon

I'd hope all the MBA PMs would have abandoned their theoretical sourcing models after the pandemic disrupted everyone that didn't have acceptable on-hand inventory levels.

Nope, they haven’t in many cases. Greedy with short memories means just in time still rules…until it doesn’t. The smart one’s get it. Most publicly traded are too concerned with stock holder dividends.

I have been in the supply chain and distribution line of work for 35 years. I have seen a lot of good things and a lot of stupidity. Most people have no idea how fragile the supply chain is for a ton of reasons. I keep my shelves stocked and don’t wait for anything that is a need.
