It's finally warming up in Alberta Canada. Washed the truck and installed the Airplex Hood protector I ordered off eBay before Christmas. Very easy to install. The only thing I noticed on the final steps was the plastic clip that is on the corners is so tight it tears the protective film you put on the corners of the hood when pushing the clip on. Other than that. Perfect fit and look!!

Looks good! On mine I didn't use the thin pieces of film they gave me, instead I cut some slightly bigger ones out of some 3M PPF I had on hand. I also warmed up the clips with a heat gun so they'd soften a bit and go on easier.

I'm happy with mine, in fact with all the black on the front of mine it makes the truck look taller. I want to eventually paint that gray lower part black as well, I think that will really make the front look like it means business!

Yours is looking great too!. Definitely good advice and pointers. I was afraid of making the clips too loose by warming them. Mine are definitely not going anywhere 😁

I saw one in a F15O when I was at the dealer getting my oil changed today.
ā€˜I thought it looked pretty cool on there. Was wondering if they made them for Ranger too.
Very cool.

How was it pushing the friction inserts through the rubber gasket and deflector?

The pushpins that come with it went in great and then you screw in the metal screws supplied to expand it.

We will find out soon enough. The bugs will be coming out soon here.

These look great! Do you have the link from eBay or the eBay seller's name? I'm interested in one of these but couldn't find it. Thanks in advance!

So it sounds like it doesn’t install with double sided tape and you don’t need to drill holes, just clips, right? I like that. I’ve already gotten one windshield crack from a rock thrown off a dump truck on the freeway, hoping it would cut down on those.

-Remove two factory push clips in the front hood weatherstripping
-Install the bug deflector under the weatherstripping,
-Put in the supplied push pin into the weatherstrip hole which goes through the deflector and into the hood.
-Install the Philips screws into the fasteners.
-Install the "w" clips at both ends of the deflector
-clean corner of the hood with supplied wipes
-put on supplied protective film to corners of the hood
-work the clip onto the hood corners. Because of the tight fit, you may want to do one corner "w" clip at a time using warm water. Mine was tight and some of the protective film pushed out of the clip when installing them.
