Mode change at random without user input - sand mode specifically?

Had my RR since June, it's not my daily (adventure and fun rig) so I've racked up only 3200 miles on trips since then.

I have had two instances at this point of the drive mode changing on me at random without any user input, while driving, which is the main concern here. It appears to select sand mode when this happens - this takes me out of 2H and starts a switch to 4H wherever I am and at whatever speed I am driving.

A point of interest is any time this happens, even if you select out of this mode and restart the truck it prompts a dialogue box on the screen to "return to sand mode?" If you hit OK trying to get out of the seatbelt alert dialogue box, it accepts it as a yes to the sand mode dialogue box and you you re-enter the mode!

The most alarming part of this to me is if I am driving at high speed in 2H and it initiates a change to 4H. I was hopeful and searched through the menu options to see if there was some way to put a "confirm (or prevent) mode change" on but there is nothing exists for it.

Sorry if this is a discussed issue, I searched and didn't see anything that seemed similar. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there any known fix?

Someone else on the forum has had a similar thing happen. Not sure anyone had a fix. Going into to 4h from 2h shouldn't be an issue at speed. The truck does have various things in place to prevent it from breaking it self if you shouldn't be able to do something.

I honestly don't like the dial or location of the buttons. Dials always seem to find a way to get stuck or loose, especially when it's tied to a digital potentiometer. I'd have much preferred a rocker switch on the shifter or something. Those seem to last forever.

Mine hasn't done this.

BUT

It doesn't have sand mode. I saw some posts from ROW owners mentioning sand mode and figured NA didn't have it. Now the OP has it. Weird.

Correct, this is not a selectable mode from what I can tell. Seems to be a software bug or something encountered by the vehicle triggering a mode that is still in the software somewhere even if not selectable in NA vehicles.

Doesn‘t sound exactly like OPs issue but the RR that I drove at the Raptor Assault had a drive mode selector that would be slow to respond or spin through modes even though the wheel was no longer being touched. Turns out the group before us spilled a Mt Dew on the selector which would cause it to stick and select modes randomly.

Thanks! That's a strange one!
