Took a trip yesterday to visit the grand kids in Snow Shoe Pa I didn’t realize the trip meter was not reset for our trip up but we did have everything reset for our trip home I have the Ranger Lariat 2.3 We had the Ranger in Eco mode We traveled from Snow Shoe to Cecil County Md The driving was Highway and backroads with some city driving around Harrisburg and Lancaster. I have to admit I was happily surprised by the gas mileage 27.8

I get a little better than that but it has dropped a bit due to winter gas.

Wow that's nice to know. Our speeds on the highway were 65-75. On the country roads 40-50. I only have 2300 miles on my truck so maybe the numbers will get better with a little more break in but I'm still happy with that lol.

You guys must live in a very flat world. I'm lucky to pull 19 mpg with a mix of in town and highway use. Tried both eco mode and normal, gentle throttle and nothing crazy. This last week was my only tank of 20.3 mpg in 5100 miles. Altitude is 3000ft, and economy did not change between my summer AT tires and my winter tires, even though I shed 36 pounds of rubber.

When I spoke to the Ford Engineer at SEMA, he told me to look at EGT to see if I could very speed a couple miles per hour either way. The engine richens as the EGT goes up, so I was going to take a look and see if it told me anything.

It's close to being flat. It varies between 3-6 hundred feet and I also heard the higher you go the less mileage you get because of the difference in air pressure.

I’ve noticed the wind direction makes a massive difference in my 2.7L MPG. I do Cincinnati to Columbus, then back to Cincinnati fairly often (Go bucks!). It’s very common that I get 18.5 MPG one direction and 22 MPG the other direction. The cruise is set on 80 as my default, so I’m sure I could get better mileage by slowing down, but I didn’t buy the 2.7 for nothin’.

Its because of the left coast tax. :)

My trip even had a little stretch of driving through the mountains on I-80 so I'm very happy with the results hope your mpg's get better.
