On my 2024 Ranger STX there is a connector under the rear bumper to the left of the safety chain mount. Can somebody ID it for me? Can't find any reference to it it Manual.

That is a 4 pin electrical connector for your lights to your trailer...

Im guessing youre STX didnt come with tow package, and that is the connector where the 4/7 pin harness for the 4/7 pin trailer plug would connect to.

I would assume so, if it doesnt or if it throws any errors you can check the DIYs, i did one for tailgate light bar/strip that should offer an alternative/solution if you need it.

Technically all rangers come with the tow package. but only the top 2 show on the window sticker.

ford has the towing packages divided over "3 levels"

Tow package level 1, bumper ball hole, 4 pin electrical, and saftety chain hooks.
AKA No tow package

tow pack lvl 2. 2in reciver, 7/4pin electrical.
AKA tow package(shows on window sticker)

tow pack lvl 3. 2in reciver, 7/4pin electrical, and intragrated trailer brake controller.
AKA advance towing package

then you can tow package lvl 2 and lvl 3 with technology package(360 cams, trailer backup assist. etc)
