I had 4 left over Nacho Nano lights from a previous project. They’re cool because they have lower power amber and full power white modes.
I fabbed up brackets out of scrap aluminum and mounted with the side step bolts. Made my own harness using Deutsch connectors (worth the money to buy the kit and crimpers given the under body location).
Then I ran them to switches 3&4 at the rear of the frame after running on top of the frame. I was surprised that there were 4 wires back there. Two for the switches and two grounds. Each labeled with a sticker “camp lights” and “compressor.” I had read that there weren’t ground wires back there but I verified a complete circuit with a multimeter and the labels called them “camp lights ground” and “compressor ground.” Really happy with that.
I like the outcome. Pro tip, drop and remove the spare. You get all the room you need for neat and tidy wiring.
