Cant say enough good things about the Diamondback cover. They are legit and built tough..lol just like ford.

Food for thought:
When mine was delivered, heavy rain was in the forecast. Since I don’t have a garage or extra space inside, I left it in the back driveway under a tarp. Unfortunately, the tarp failed, and I didn’t realize it until a week later.

So water seeped through the box and into one of the panels. It was tucked upside down under another panel , allowing water to pool instead of draining away. The parts box was stored in that same spot, so by the time I went to install it, everything was soaked.

The struts were also sitting in a pool of water, but the seals held up perfectly. I fully expected to find rust on something, but surprisingly, there wasn't any at all. I grabbed the leaf blower, dried everything off, and let it sit in the sun to finish airing out and installed it.. Get the extra cleats as the SE only comes with 4. Makes strapping things down much easier.
Have seen that listed and checked it out. A different design that looks very rugged and would be good for a lot of things, but I need a fold up hard cover so I have open access to most of the bed without having to remove it too often, for moving taller items. Thanks

Hey guys, I've been going back and forth trying to decide on a tonneau cover for my 2024 Ranger with a 5ft bed.

Hard folding covers seem solid and secure, but I keep hearing about added weight and reduced bed access, especially if you frequently load and unload the bed. On the other hand, soft roll-ups look much easier for day-to-day use, whether it's for daily driving or weekend gear.

I've been checking out a few of the more talked-about options first, like Truxedo for soft roll-ups, Lomax for low-profile soft covers, and Leer for hard folding styles. I've also seen some budget-friendly choices mentioned, like Tyger and Garvee. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the options and not sure which one to pick.

Any tonneau covers you'd recommend? Thanks in advance.
Bakflip revolver x4s or truxedo sentry ct. I prefer the flexibility in use of a roll up hard cover.

To follow up on this...I decided to go with the Leer HF650M and called a local dealer. Nothing in stock of course and to get it would cost $1500, plus $140 if I wanted them to install it. Instead, I ordered it off the Leer website for $1174 and got it (IN to SC) on day 3. Installed it when it warmed up on Sunday afternoon. Didn't time it but going slow and easy took around 2 hours start to finish. Quality is light years ahead of the last cheap one I had. Everything is well made with heavy duty clamps, nice rubber seals all around, Besides the front clamps and tailgate end there are 2 latches in between for security. To release the latches are easy-to-press tabs you pull together from either side of the truck, with no cable that can be hooked from outside the tailgate. Super happy with it so far.

Sorry to hear that your Retrax is leaking. I know that's disappointing when you've got a premium product. Retrax includes an impressive warranty with their covers. If you'd like some guidance submitting a claim, feel free to reach out to me. I'm happy to help!

FWIW, Leer is currently offering 15% off tonneaus for President’s Day Weekend.

This makes the HF650M $997 shipped.

For those who have installed the HF650M, I noticed in the detailed PDF instructions they mention Ford Ranger Shims. Wondering how and where these go?

Yes, I see that at the bottom under Other Clamp Kits. They weren't included in mine and I didn't need them so have no idea what they are.

Well I asked Leer about those shims and they showed where they go.
The shims are to be installed like they are in the picture. They are to be slid in between the plastic bed rail molding and the steel bed rail to prevent the plastic molding from deforming when you tighten the clamp.
There are different thickness shims in the kit. You will need to determine how many you need as the bed rail moldings vary.
