Cool story, but I'm not sure why you're quoting me, I'm not OP. This truck has a 10 speed Auto, not 12, and the seats are not real leather, it's called ActiveX. It's Ford's approach to "sustainability." Which essentially just means we pay more to sit on repurposed plastic bottles. And with no seat cooling option, these things are probably going to be positively nuclear in the summer.
Its Real leather on the Rangers they do not have the active X stuff like my Lariat Maverick has. The Active X seats does not show any wear or stretch like the Leather seats do in the Lariat Ranger or Raptor. The Active X stuff is holds up better but it just does not have the leather smell which I like. Got well over 15,000 miles on the Maverick and it shows no wear at all on the seats and it looks brand new still. My 2022 Ranger Lariat showed bottom seat impressions and signs of stretching after a few miles. I think Ford just needs to use the Active X stuff it feels like Leather but is 100 times better at showing no wear. The Ranger 2.3's have always been noisy and rough around the edges in feel. Thats why I waited this time and order a Ranger 2.7 V6 Lariat FX4, which the dealer is selling to me a little under invoice.

Ford of North America will never give the Ranger the same features as the F150 here in the States. They do not even give the same 2.3 thats in the Bronco that make 300 horsepower. The way NA Ford thinks about the Ranger is your lucky we let you have one. The Aussie Ranger has so many more features than we get like heated and cool seats, rear air vents, grab handles for easy entry at all doors, Auto 4wd in lower trims and power bed covers too. As long as NA Ford treats the Ranger the way it does, it will always play second fiddle to the F150. What Ford does not get not all us want a F150 size truck and if they keep taking features away in the NA Ranger they will push us to another brand of a smaller truck that offers them. If it was not for 2.7 V6 or 3.0 V6 I would be looking for something else beside the Ranger.

Direct injection engines are naturally louder and tick. They also normally have their high pressure fuel pumps up higher towards the top of the engine bay. As different and weird it may sound it's normal. I have a BMW G82 M4 Comp and it's almost the same way.

I think engine covers, which these don't have, help dampen the noise?

Thanks! This is good to know, I was under the impression this was a faux leather. Synthetics have advanced so much I just don't know what to believe anymore. :whew:

Yep! The master technician said they used to put sound dampening material in them around the injectors to quiet the noise, which is why these are so freakin loud.

The injectors on the 2.3L Ecoboost are located under the intake manifold. Engine cover does not cover that area at all.

And the intake is plastic which explains why they are so loud

FWIW my 2022 Tremor with the 2.3L Ecoboost has a foam sound damping panel mounted over the injector area beneath the intake manifold. Maybe this has been deleted on the 6G’s?
