my 2017 ST was rock solid the last 7 years, zero issues. Was hoping lightning would strike twice.

Maybe I'll just have them give me a Raptor as a replacement for the cost of what I paid for my Lariat 😂
There are a few out there. I just saw 3 pop up for MSRP. Different colors.

In my opinion, the sum of its parts does not equal the manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Lariat. Everything is plastic (especially this awful "premium" upholstery) and you can tell the bailout, failed "Green New Deal" and disastrous EV push has caused Ford to put out products like this. (Which I don't necessarily fault them for, it's just unfortunately the reality we're living in.)

The $50k price point still isn't sitting well with me for what this vehicle offers because it's mostly intangible engineering and technology that offers no comfort or visual appeal. Technology, I might add, that I deactivated because I don't need help staying in my lane or reminders to keep my hands on the wheel. (The people who need this type of "assistance" should simply not be allowed to operate a motor vehicle, plain and simple)

As far as the 2.3L Ecoboost goes, I believe this is just simply the wrong powerplant for this sized vehicle. I have a 400hp 2.4L in my 2900lb sport compact car and it feels just capable enough. But, a sub 300hp in a 4,000+lb truck? This just doesn't sit well with me, and I can feel it lacking every time I get on the freeway. Purr like a kitten it certainly does not.
My 2.0 liter diesel Ranger Sport 4x4 is quiet, I think your dealer sucks. I had to tell mine to leave all the new stuff on it, I wanted to remove the plastic wrap inside. I realize the Rangers overseas are different but my sport only cost 29K U.S. after converting pesos to USD, leather seats, 6 spd folding mirrors, locking rear diff, cruise control, rear camera. I wanted the mid range, less things to go wrong. I enjoy my Ranger tremendously. I stayed away from all the high tech driver assist crap that are annoyances and future probs, same as the 12 speed not sure they fixed it. I hardly have a chance to get out of 4th gear here in the Philippines. Make sure your visits are documented with paperwork, or its just a he said she said. Good Luck

The proper way to determine the engine noise would be a sound meter check, compare it to other vehicles same engine. Its hard to argue with hard facts, the sound meters are not that expensive.

The only add on is the dealers 20k
If people would stop paying it, it would go away. Dealers make anyway from 10 to 20 pct on just MSRP, now you want to give the owner what a paid vacation. I have never paid more than MSRP on my vehicles, sometimes less, with rebates. I walk if they are crooks.

I have even purchased a vehicle once back in Florence, KY and drove it back to MD 10 hours, MD could not match the price a friend was offering. The most pleasant drive ever in a brand new car.
If the economy is as bad as all the sites I watch report, they will be begging for you to buy one with additional discounts in another year.

I bet if one was to investigate, they might find, the same dealers who are marking them up so criminally are the same shitty dealers offering shitty service that people complain about.

Stop paying Premium markups on new vehicles. Unless you like to give your money away.

No markup for mine paid a little less than MSRP for my Lariat.

I owned a 2019 Ranger for 5 years and the 2.3l does make noise. HP fuel pump and injectors are noisey. The 4 cylinders in all ford vehicles seem noisy in the last few years. My 3.0l Raptor is quieter. The driveshaft was painted on my 2019. Driveshafts on the new Ranger aren’t painted and have surface rust. Everything is more expensive nowadays and quality is poor. It’s the way of the world.

Cool story, but I'm not sure why you're quoting me, I'm not OP. This truck has a 10 speed Auto, not 12, and the seats are not real leather, it's called ActiveX. It's Ford's approach to "sustainability." Which essentially just means we pay more to sit on repurposed plastic bottles. And with no seat cooling option, these things are probably going to be positively nuclear in the summer.

Can not be any worse than the 60's plastic seat coverings with no A/C due to being an option.
Only A/C was 460 (4 windows down at 60 mph.:giggle:

The seats are actually super comfortable and soft. As for heat, I’ve lived in Central Texas for 30+ years….i could sit on a hot grill and not feel it at this point😂

And I'm sure the Flintstones' feet were killing them after a long drive too. Look, we could play that game all day long, but the fact remains that, for this price point, certain things are expected. Because if the Platinum has cooled seats, and if the F-150 Sport has cooled seats, then a 50-60k Ranger can have cooled seats.
