I could see a Ranger getting stuck there too. This is less about the overestimation of the ability of the truck and more about the overestimation of the abilities of the driver. Plus he was trespassing which breaks the golden rules of four wheeling.

Saw this on the chevy forums a few weeks back. It isn't the first time a truck has gotten stuck there, and in nearly the exact same spot.

After a friend took me four wheeling I was surprised by just how tame pictures make trails look. The worst situations in pictures don’t look like anything show stopping. But they are.

I’m expecting my new RR soon, I’d be happy to go rescue your AT4
not mine. I live at the base of the Rocky Mountains and there are Darwin Award worthy rescues up here every Winter because tourists either rely too much on their GPS devices instead of common sense and the abundant warnings on Winrter driving, or think they know better and will outsmart all the agencies providing the warnings- or both  Besides, my only 2 choices for a new mid-size upgrade over my Maverick are down to new Ranger if/when they offer SCab with 6' bed, and Nissan Frontier King Cab which already sells the equivalent Extended cab + 6' bed as a base model. ?‍♂
