So I get up this morning to go to the gym and I am greeted with "Parking Brake LImited Function Service Required". I put the key in and turned on the truck and I get:

  • Parking Brake LImited Function Service Required
  • Lane Keeping System Off
  • Pre-Collision Assist not available
  • Service AdvanceTrac
  • Hill Start Assist not available

This truck is 5 weeks old and has 1100 miles on it. One of the 5 weeks was spent at the dealer over the video in New Fricking Truck Part I. I see ads on TV Ford bragging about inital quality. Has anyone had issues like this?

If you pull the codes, I can almost guarantee you it's failing the self check on one of the wheel speed sensors or wiring. Similar issue on my old Maverick when I unknowingly severed the 22 gauge wire "shielded" by black tape instead of a rubber hose. Built Ford Rough. šŸ˜‰

Hopefully this is the only sequel and it doesn’t turn into a Fast n’ Furious-length franchise.

This happened to me once after not driving the vehicle for a week. Alert didn’t show up again after I turned the ignition off and on again after (I don’t recall if I disconnected the battery for a bit but unlikely)

2nd the wheel speed sensor comment from bgn.. that has popped up a couple times on the forum here. Might be an easy fix if you press them to get parts in quick

5 weeks old for you - if it was on the lot for a while before that you could get the dealer to test the battery as well
