New old guy on the block

First of all, I want to thank the Admin. for allowing me in the fold.
Little Ranger history, I traded a 2010 F150 which had seen better days for my 2020 Ranger XLT Crew 4x4. Had 16K miles
on it, now at 26K, a bit over one year.
Absolutely love this truck. 1st time I sat down in it, I said this is me.
So far, no issues, although, I have ordered a DPFE for it, just in case. Hope I don't need it.
On a personal level, I'm Retired Army, combat wounded Vietnam vet. 81 yrs young.
Worked as a Corrections Officer 3 yrs, a Deputy Sheriff part time 5 yrs.
Heart attack last year kinda slowed me down.
I found this site via a post on another forum. Really like it, lots of good folks & info.

Wonderful of you to join us Larry! Navy Submarines vet here. 14 yrs 6 months and 17 days. Went into commercial nuclear power for 13 years then reclaimed my military time with the federal govt until I got DOGEd (was a good thing).
I got my first Ford last March. Was a Chevy guy until I had to have a transmission replaced on a Colorado I just bought last year. Found a used 24 Ranger Raptor with 91 miles.

Vietnam era Submarine Vet. and Special Boat Unit (SBU-13).
Now have a 2024 Cactus Gray XLT FX4.
Purchases late February 2025 and now approx. 7500 miles. Did a TN to CA round trip with the wife and we have nothing but positive comments.
I put in some 8-10 hour days and never felt like it was uncomfortable and exhausting to drive.

Man, alot od sub guys here. My grandpa was a submariner is the 50s and 60s.

I know nothing about subs but when i was little and my dad would take us to visit, grandpa would take us to the sub by fisherman's wharf and said that is the kind he was on.

I was army and just did my three years at kelley hill with 24th infantry which was retired and we became 3rd infantry till i got out in 98. I was an enlisted records clerk (and the m60 guy )

Probably the token Coastie here Retired from the Coast Guard early 2001. Owned mostly Fords my whole life. Only bad experience was with the (then) newly remodeled 1979 Mustang; it was a lemon... Otherwise I've had great luck with Fords.

I owned a 2005 Ranger Edge4x4 that is still on the road today being driven by a neighbor of mine.
I now have a 2024 XL 4x4 . STX
