Recently became the owner of a 2024 Ranger XLT. I got a screaming deal on it from a small Ford dealer up in Washington. Apparently it was their 'shop truck' for picking up parts and moving parts between their warehouse and another dealer they owned about 20 minutes away. It only had 1000 miles and they were asking $38,600. I talked them down to $35,900. The new MSRP according to the sticker was a hair over $44k. It lacks some creature comforts I would've liked such as heated seats but I was willing to overlook that because of the price.
This isn't my first Ranger though. When I was stationed in Cuba many years ago I owned a white '92 Ranger that I bought for commuting around on the base. I paid $1000 and a sandwich for it (it was tradition to add in a sandwich from Subway when buying cars on base). Later after leaving the military I got my hands on a 2008 Ranger FX4 that I owned for about 2 years. The original owner called me and missed it so much that he offered to buy it back for the same price I bought it. Fast forward about 10 years and here I am in my third Ranger!
I was holding out hope that Ford would bring the PHEV Ranger to the US but it seems like that won't be happening anytime soon. Still happy with my purchase and look forward to driving this long into the future. I got some stuff on my to-do list for the truck including a spray in bedliner, all weather floor mats, and the stereotypical color filled letters on the tailgate.
