The 2.7L isn't nearly the constraint is once was. The MiC hardtop still is and hasn't really improved that much.

I'm hearing the biggest bottle necks are Wildtraks, Badlands, mostly for the 4A transfer case, computer chips, front & rear drive units with lockers.

The 2Dr will always be a constraint because Ford grossly underestimated the demand/want of it and the parts for it.

My Bronco order had all those and more. lol 2dr hardtop loaded Badlands with the tow package. The only constraint I didn't have was the SAS package. After 3+ years of waiting I'm done with it and on to the next.

I called my old dealer (actually the owner) from back east this morning and he doesn't have anyone on his list for a Ranger Raptor. So I'm #1 on his list for one but I'm waiting to see the pricing on them now. I'll get it for MSRP which is a bonus but who knows what they'll go for here in the states. Unless the PHEV Ranger comes out soon too I'll (hopefully) use this as a bridge until they do.

When the order banks for '23 opened up, I dropped everything but Mid package and 2.7L off my my 2Dr Badlands, thinking it 'might' help get it chosen.

I then found out my position in line and that there were quite a few 2Dr orders in front of me, so I started the ball rolling on the only vehicle that would pull me away from the Bronco.

I'm on the Raptor waiting list at the Dealer that has my Bronco order (lower 20's) and at MSRP. I also approached my local Dealer to give them another chance, since they gave me the run around on pricing when I asked before choosing a Dealer to place the reservation in 2020.

Depending on who you talk to there, I'm either #1 or #2 in line and they say they'll honor MSRP, but they're a small Dealership and may not get many allocations for the Raptor, so I'm not sure of my chances. Especially when there are a lot of people, in the area I live, that have more money than brains/common sense. I could get my place in line bought out from under me by someone willing to pay ADM.

I ordered my Bronco at Granger Ford in IA. They were doing invoice pricing plus an additional $2K off for the month of October. Well the ended up with over 1,000 orders and Ford changed to an allocation which messed everything up. I was still #408 when the new order banks opened up for '23 and no way I was getting one this year being that far up. Plus I doubt Ford will continue the price protection after this year so I pretty much gave up.

Luckily my dealer back east is fairly large and they have 2 other Ford dealerships too. He said they sell a lot of Rangers and should get a good allocation for a few Raptors. They're a stand up dealer and I take his word that he'll get it to me for MSRP but I guess if someone with more money than brains flashes a huge wad of cash at them anything can happen. It is what it is at this point so now the waiting starts again. 🤷‍♂️

I'm liking that color. It sorta reminds me of Black Jade from the late '60s. I actually had a '69 Boss 429 in that color.

I'm the complete opposite. I can almost guarantee the Ranger WILL have 2.7l option. It's available in the Bronco, so why would Ford not put it in the Ranger when the truck and the assembly line is already set up for it.
Parts constraints. Look at the Bronco orders and one of the top constraints (besides the hardtop) is the 2.7. They kept telling us if you want your Bronco quicker change to the 2.3 and it doesn't look like things are going to get back to 'normal" anytime soon. I can see them adding a little more hp/tq to the 2.3 and calling it a day. Maybe if this were 5 years ago I think you'd see more engine options. Plus with the big push for EV's and their investment in the Blue Oval City I can see them limiting ICE engine choices from here on out.
Quit raining on my parade. ;) :)
I still think it's going to happen, but I admit, I'm not as excited about it as I was before. I now have about 15,000 miles on my truck and I'm liking the 2.3 more and more.

Sorry lol. I love mine too, more so since I tuned it 2 1/2 years ago. It makes a huge difference not just in hp/tq but the shifting has greatly improved.

Eruption green looks nice! I chose shelter green but it looks like dookie green. Hopefully it looks better in person or I'll have to get it wrapped a different color
